Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to your questions

Do you file the SR22 with the State of Texas?

Yes! We file SR22 forms with the State of Texas every 10 minutes! So, after you’ve purchased SR22 coverage, we’ll file your SR22 with the state.

Can an SR22 policy be purchased for a minor?

You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase insurance.

What if I need auto insurance along with an SR22?

Yes, you can purchase an owner’s insurance policy that includes an SR22 certificate of insurance that’s filed with the state.

Can I add regular auto insurance to a non-owner SR22?

No. As non-owner SR22 certificates do not provide any insurance coverage, you will need to purchase an auto insurance policy that includes an SR22 filing. Of course, if you already have car insurance, you can simply purchase a non-owner SR22 certificate to fulfill your SR22 reporting requirements.

How do I know you’re a real company and this is legal?

Spartan Insurance has been proudly serving drivers in Texas for nearly 40 years. You are welcome to review our company profile with the Texas Department of Insurance.

What factors are considered when providing a non-owner SR22 quote?

All we need is your name, age, zip code and marital status. Yes, that’s it!

I don’t live in Texas, can you provide me with SR22 insurance for another state?

Unfortunately, we only issue SR22 certificates within the State of Texas.

Does a non-owner SR22 policy provide coverage in the event of an accident or other claim?

A non-owner SR22 filing does not provide insurance coverage in the event of an accident or other claim. You will need to keep your current car insurance policy with your current insurer. If you have further questions, please chat with one of our insurance specialists online or give us a call.

Will my current insurance rates go up when I purchase a non-owner SR22 policy?

Purchasing an SR22 certificate through a third-party insurer will not absolutely save you from a hefty rate hike with your current provider.

What if I miss a payment for an SR22 policy?

If you experience a lapse in your insurance coverage, we are bound by the SR22 certificate protocol to notify the State of Texas. The state will then begin the process of re-suspending your license. In short, make sure you don’t have a lapse in coverage!
